What insurers are licensed to write
Each of the 3,755 entities carries one licence class as recorded by its supervisor, or inferred from its name where the register does not state one (the EIOPA register for EU/EEA undertakings). Composite licences, which allow both life and non-life business, survive mainly in markets that have not yet mandated separation.
Not stated in register

Specialty / Credit / Captive

Composite
Licensed to write both life and non-life business under one entity.
